The French edition of Math, a textbook series compiled by Zhang Tianxiao, a senior teacher from East China's Zhejiang province, was recently awarded by the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication as the excellent export book of 2019.
With strong support from the Sahara Publishing House in Africa, the book underwent five years of translation and localization, with its French edition released in 2019 and used in French-speaking countries like Mali and Cameroon.
The book series answered the nation's call to promote the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as served as a novel example of promoting Chinese culture overseas.
The Chinese series was put in pilot use in Shangcheng district and has been applied in primary schools across over 20 municipalities and provinces in China. The first- and fourth-grade books were ranked as national excellent textbooks in 2020.
