Qiantang New Area in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province launched a new service platform on Dec 24 to make it easier for foreigners to handle civil affairs, local media reported.

The system, known as Rongjing, enables expats to manage their affairs via an online platform, or via their mobile phones as well as self-service machines at local administrative service centers.

It is able to handle items related to immigration services, urban public services, urban traffic, and social security and health services.

The system can also provide information regarding entry and exit, visas, and temporary residence records and can update automatically.

The system uses a distinct code which integrates the current talent and health codes and can be used as a form of identification by foreigners when managing their civil affairs.

"We will promote the application of the Rongjing system in other areas and strive to bring more convenience to expats," said an official from the bureau of administrative examination and approval of Qiantang New Area.
