An intelligent triage system known as Future Hospital was recently put into use at the Yuhang branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, local media reported.

The system, which accepts the widespread mobile payment app Alipay, enables patients to make online appointments in advance and can handle routine procedures such as registration, appointment scheduling, and payment in a matter of seconds. It can also provide patients with directions to the hospital as well as the specific department.

The system aims to shorten the time needed to set up an appointment and maximize diagnosis and treatment time.

The system was co-developed by the hospital and Alibaba Group, Alipay's parent company.
