The core graphics and color scheme of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 were revealed in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 21.

The core graphics "meeting the world" draws inspirations from silk, a quintessential cultural element of the host city Hangzhou, which was a key linking point on the Maritime Silk Road. Its design represents a combination of traditional and modern styles and static and dynamic touches, and a welcome to all Olympic Council of Asia members to the sports event in 2022.

Themed "harmony of colors," the color system of Hangzhou 2022 is dominated by Rainbow Purple, the main color of the emblem "Tides Surging," and complemented by Glowing Red, Mist White, Laurus Yellow, Glimmering Blue, and Lake-and-Mountain Green. It is inspired by lines from one of China's most famous poet Su Shi, "West Lake is like Xi Zi in beauty, at her best: She is gorgeous, richly clothed or plainly dressed."

According to the Hangzhou 2022 organizers, the core graphics and color system will be applied to a variety of scenarios including venue decoration, ceremonies, cultural activities, vehicles, uniforms, tickets and licensed products.

Also on Wednesday, the organizers launched the Operation Center for Overseas Integrated Media and the first issue of the official journal.
