?YRD integration: Hangzhou's achievements and goals
Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has made remarkable achievements in promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region since it was included in China's national strategy in 2018.
The Hangzhou government held a meeting on Aug 27 in which representatives delivered reports on Hangzhou's work over the past several years in promoting the national strategy and the city's future plans.

Hangzhou has engaged in close cross-regional cooperation with other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, and the city has introduced a slew of projects from Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuxi.
Hangzhou has 115 cooperation projects which will be constructed in the future and 128 projects currently under construction.
The Hefei-Hangzhou railway has been put into use, shortening the travel time between the two cities to less than two hours. Hangzhou's transportation card has been connected with the national metro network, allowing the Hangzhou metro card to be used in 11 other cities in the Yangtze Delta region and 275 cities across the country.
Hangzhou Metro Line 5 has been connected with the Shaoxing Metro Line, making it easier for residents to travel between the two cities.
The city is accelerating construction on the Hangzhou West Railway Station and the third-phase project of the Xiaoshan International Airport. A number of highways connecting Hangzhou and surrounding cities have been built.
The city has also partnered with other areas in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui to establish a cooperative medical insurance system.
Hangzhou will strengthen its commitment to green development

Hangzhou will make concerted efforts with other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region to improve the natural environment.
On Aug 26, Hangzhou signed an agreement with the city of Huangshan in Anhui province to promote the building of the Hangzhou-Huangshan Green Industrial Park.
The city will also carry out several major projects to renovate the natural environment.
City pioneers development of scientific research and industrial innovation
Hangzhou has made diligent efforts to help the Yangtze River Delta region achieve its goal of becoming the national leader in the development of science and technology and industrial innovation.
Moving forward, Hangzhou will accelerate construction on several provincial laboratories including the Zhejiang Laboratory, Liangzhu Laboratory and Westlake Laboratory.
The city will cooperate with some of the nation's leading companies such as Alibaba and Hikvision and reputed universities in the Yangtze River Delta region to make breakthroughs in key areas of artificial intelligence, integrated circuits and biological medicine.
Hangzhou will also build over 20,000 5G base stations by the end of this year and press ahead with construction on 15 big data centers.
Hangzhou will further improve its smart city brain system and renovate old residential communities. The city will start construction on seven future communities.
