The 2020 Zhejiang and Hangzhou Science and Technology Activity Week kicked off in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Aug 23.

The event will be held in a variety of different places throughout the province, with its main venue located in Hangzhou. It will run until Aug 29.

The science and technology week, which has been held every year since 2001, showcases new scientific achievements and teaches people about science.

The main venue in the Qianjiang New Town is divided into four parts and showcases VR glasses, intelligent robots, and other innovative products for entertainment and daily life.

Technological products from over 40 companies are exhibited at the event. An intelligent garbage sorting robot proved especially popular, as it can pick up litter such as cigarette butts and even distinguish between different types of garbage.

In addition, there is a new exhibition on epidemic prevention achievements being held this year. Equipment such as ventilators and negative pressure isolation ambulances are currently on display.

The event demonstrates the importance of science and technology in preventing and controlling epidemics and is meant to help the public to understand and respond to the epidemic in a scientific manner.
