Shiqiao Street in Xiacheng district, Hangzhou set up a special community center on Aug 10 to improve services for overseas returnees and their relatives.

The center is located on the second floor of the Jing'an Community and covers an area of more than 100 square meters.  

The center is comprised of multiple divisions for conferences, training, practicing calligraphy, painting, and exhibitions. It aims to strengthen links between overseas returnees, their relatives, and associations for overseas returnees by holding a variety of activities.

Shiqiao Street has long been recognized for its strong focus on overseas returnees affairs. As early as 2012, Jing'an Community, which is under the administration of the street, was praised by the State Council for its efforts to improve services for overseas returnees.

The street is home to 1,237 overseas returnees and relatives of overseas returnees, who live in 10 different communities throughout the street. During the COVID-19 outbreak, these families offered nearly 1 million yuan ($143,900) in donations to help fight the epidemic.
