The West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou, embraced by cloud-capped hills on three sides and divided into several parts by picturesque causeways, presents a delicate scenery featuring overlapping peaks and scattering temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens, ornamental trees, and artificial islands, adding beauty to the city of Hangzhou. It was inscribed by the World Heritage Committee on UNESCO's World Heritage List as a cultural property in Paris on June 24, 2011.
