A delegation led by Zhou Jiangyong, Party secretary of Hangzhou, visited Delingha in Northwest China's Qinghai province from Aug 3 to 5.
The visit was aimed at tightening the two cities' cooperative ties and sharing ideas on financial aid, people's livelihood, industrial development, educational support and tourism promotion.
Wang Jianjun, Party secretary of Qinghai, welcomed the delegation and invited the members to visit local projects that have gained support from Hangzhou, including poverty-stricken families, a Tibetan culture museum, a community healthcare clinic at the Delingha Railway Station, a culturally characteristic farming town, a forest conservation project, and a new kindergarten which offers preprimary education to over 3,000 surrounding farming and herding families.
Zhou said he appreciated Delingha's dedication to establishing ecological barriers against the desert and spearheading innovative and leapfrog development. He was proud to help Delingha under the national poverty alleviation program, and said he hoped the two cities could develop more characteristic, targeted and diversified projects.
Hangzhou and Delingha established cooperative ties in 2010. The past 10 years have seen Hangzhou offer a generous hand to its counterpart, with Delingha developing into a regional political, scientific, cultural and educational center and living up to its name, which in Mongolian means "a golden world".
