The China Academy of Art announced on July 29 that Jin Yibin has been appointed Party secretary of the academy, while Gao Shiming has been appointed deputy Party secretary and dean.

Qian Xiaofang and Xu Jiang will no longer serve as the school's Party secretary and dean, respectively. The latter served in the position for 20 years.

Founded in 1928, the China Academy of Art is the first national higher art institution in China and has consistently cultivated students, even during the hardest of times. The school's name has undergone several changes, from the initial National Academy of Art to the National Hangzhou Academy of Art, East China Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts.

Jin Yibin, born in Zhuji city, Zhejiang province in November 1966, holds a doctoral degree and is a professor and doctoral advisor.

Gao Shiming, born in Weifang, Shandong province in August 1976, holds a doctoral degree and is a professor.
