The Xin'anjiang Reservoir opened its floodgates for the first time in nine years at 10:00 on July 7. In an effort to control flooding, Jiande has been making use of a "city brain" platform, which coordinates data and better links departments.
Since July 6, Jiande has established a municipal flood control and emergency team with the Publicity Department, Water Resources Bureau, Meteorological Bureau, Transportation Bureau, Public Security Bureau, and other departments.
They are collecting real-time information on water levels, meteorology, roads, and disasters, helping information and decisions reach the public faster.
More than 3.8 million pieces of data from various departments have been collected by the Jiande Data Resource Service Center for flood discharge and prevention efforts.
Reservoirs whose water levels exceed the flood limit will immediately receive a text message from the service center warning them of the danger.
All reservoirs in Jiande, areas along the Xinan River, and villages are under the surveillance of a high-altitude spherical camera that can rotate 360 degrees and zoom in 26 times. The cameras can spot civilians too close to the monitoring site and notify staff about the situation.

The Jiande Data Resource Service Center uses the Articulated Naturality Web and DingTalk to connect provinces and cities, as well as the water conservancy bureau, Meteorological Bureau, and other departments.
Since June 6, officials and relevant Jiande departments have been on duty 24 hours a day. They recently participated in a flood control video conference to discuss the real-time flood situation. The service center can contact low-level cadres anywhere at any time through DingTalk to better understand the situation on the ground.
