Delegates visit Liangzhu Archaeological Site for hands-on experience
A delegation consisting of deputies to the Hangzhou Municipal People's Congress, Hangzhou residents, and reporters visited the Liangzhu Archaeological Site on July 7 to experience the site's services and give suggestions on how to improve them.
The Liangzhu Archaeological Site was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 6, 2019. The delegation's visit was part of a series of activities held by Hangzhou to celebrate the first anniversary of this milestone for Liangzhu.
"I don't know how to get to the site by bus," a resident said, "I think that the local tourism authorities should make this information easier to find."
The Liangzhu Archaeological Site is located in Yuhang district of Hangzhou, nearly 30 kilometers away from the city's downtown area and roughly 60 kilometers away from the Hangzhou Xiaoshao International Airport.
"Considering the site's remote location, transportation has naturally become a focal point of our visit," said a member of the delegation.
Gu Jiali, a deputy to the Hangzhou Municipal People's Congress, offered her suggestions, noting that the sign pointing to the gate of the site is not clear enough.
She also noted that the site should provide more details when providing services for visitors.

Some residents proposed that a bus line should be set up to connect the Liangzhu Metro Station, the Liangzhu Archaeological Site and the Liangzhu Museum.
