Hangzhou Eye episode 2: Strolling along Gexi Creek
Gexi Creek, which gurgles through Fuyang district in southwestern Hangzhou, has been loved since ancient times for its picturesque scenery, fresh delicacies, rich resources and the unique culture of the She ethnic group.
The creek is said to have been named after Ge Hong, an alchemist in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420) and many literati were attracted by its flowing waters and enjoyed singing and dancing by the waterway.
