The municipal government of Hangzhou partnered with tech giant Huawei on June 5.
According to a strategic cooperation agreement, the two parties will use their respective strengths to integrate the digital economy, traditional economies, and smart city development.
The municipal government is prioritizing 5G technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and big data in an effort to make Hangzhou's digital economy the most developed in China.
Huawei plans to build R&D centers, training facilities, and pilot areas for 5G and AI in Hangzhou. The tech giant is expected to help strengthen Hangzhou's innovation abilities and attract more high-tech companies to the city.
Hangzhou's already developed digital economy, strong manufacturing industries, and excellent business environment are well-suited for Huawei's global supply chain and R&D ecology.
