Hangzhou celebrates China Tourism Day

Hangzhou -- capital city of East China's Zhejiang province -- held an activity celebrating the 10th China Tourism Day at the Xiaoshan Culture Square on May 19, according to local officials.
The activity was aimed at accelerating the recovery of Hangzhou's tourism market from the effects of the novel coronavirus outbreak and improving the influence of China Tourism Day.
The activity featured artistic performances, a display of intangible cultural heritage and a promotion of scenic spots.
A number of scenic areas and hotels in different counties and districts of Hangzhou offered discounts to attract visitors and customers.
Xixi National Wetland Park, a 5A-level scenic spot in Hangzhou, announced that tourists could visit the park at a half price on May 19.
Meanwhile Tonglu county and Jiande, a county-level city in Hangzhou, announced that their scenic spots were open to visitors free on May 19.
During the activity, the Hangzhou bureau of culture, broadcasting, television and tourism organized for Hangzhou residents and expats to experience four themed travel routes set up in Xiaoshan, Yuhang, Fuyang and Tonglu.
According to officials from the Hangzhou bureau of culture, broadcasting, television and tourism, a team consisting of top tourist guides will be formed to improve services for tourists.
Apart from Xiaoshan district, other districts including Xihu, Yuhang and Fuyang also held activities to mark China Tourism Day.
