West Lake scenic area receives around 880,000 visitors during May Day holiday

The West Lake scenic area in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, received nearly 880,700 visitors over the May Day holiday which lasted from May 1 to 5.
Parks with entrance fees in the scenic area received 194,400 visitors during the holiday.
The three most popular free scenic spots in West Lake scenic area are Xinhuabin scenic area, Xinnanxian scenic area, and Bai Causeway scenic area, while the three most popular scenic areas with entrance fees are Santanyingyue area (Three Pools Mirroring the Moon), the botanical garden and the zoo.
The daily number of visitors to West Lake scenic area over the holiday did not exceed 30 percent of the maximum daily visitor capacity.
After the May Day holiday, visitors to the West Lake scenic area will still be required to make reservations online in advance.
