The government of Yuhang district in Hangzhou signed an agreement with Alibaba Group on March 6 to strengthen cooperation.

Before the signing ceremony, the delegation, led by Zhang Zhenfeng, Party secretary of Yuhang district, visited Alibaba Group's Xixi Park to learn about Alibaba's growth needs and listen to the group leaders' suggestions on improving the business climate in Yuhang.

Chen Rugen, governor of Yuhang, signed the agreement with Tao Xuefei, vice-president of Alibaba. Zhang Yong, CEO of Alibaba, was also present at the ceremony. 

Over the past few years, cooperation between Yuhang and Alibaba has proved fruitful.

Xixi Park officially began operating in 2013, and in 2016, the two parties formed a comprehensive strategic partnership. In 2017, they signed a memorandum to strengthen cooperation.

The two parties have cooperated in town development, industrial growth, and innovative research applications.

The recent signing is an effort by Yuhang to honor the deal signed by the Hangzhou government and Alibaba Group to conduct comprehensive strategic cooperation in September 2019. The deal was aimed at drawing on the resources of both sides to develop Hangzhou into China's No 1 digital economy city.

Alibaba CEO Zhang Yong thanked the government of Yuhang for its long-term support. He also briefed attendees on what measures the group had taken to prevent and control the coronavirus while resuming production.

He looked forward to future cooperation between the two sides and hoped Yuhang would provide assistance to Alibaba in basic infrastructure, logistics, the application of industrial internet of things, and technological innovations.

Zhang vowed that Alibaba would consistently strengthen cooperation with Yuhang district in industrial development and social services, aiming to improve the quality of life in Hangzhou.

Yuhang Party secretary Zhang Zhenfeng said that Yuhang would fully support the growth of Alibaba. He also thanked the group for its great contributions to the prevention and control of the coronavirus.
