Hangzhou East Railway Station, a high-speed bullet train station, was recently recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Market Regulation for its outstanding management practices.

On Jan 16, the standards for management of high-speed bullet train stations drafted by the management committee of the Hangzhou East Railway Station were approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Market Regulation as the provincial standard.

The approval means that all of the more than 60 bullet train stations in Zhejiang province will be required to adopt the practices.

The Hangzhou East Railway Station is China's third busiest station, receiving 600,000 passengers a day on average.

In May 2017, the management committee of the Hangzhou East Railway Station put together a team to formulate the standards, which specify in details of the equipment, security checks and other services which should be implemented.

We have drawn on our own management experiences over the past seven years, said Cheng Yongqun, executive deputy director of the management committee of the Hangzhou East Railway Station, referring to how the standards were formulated. 

According to the standards, passengers will no longer need to go through a security checkpoint when transferring to the subway from the bullet train. 

When station staff see unattended children or people with disabilities, they should offer assistance. 

Other provisions regulating management were also laid out in the standards.

Since 2019, Hangzhou East Railway Station has been intensifying efforts to promote the "At Most One Visit" reform, aiming to streamline services for passengers. 

The station has taken 45 measures to implement the reform, 39 of which have been completed. Another six items, such as improving the signs at the station and building an overpass, are currently in progress.
