Hangzhou reemphasized its ambition to be China's top digital economy city at a promotional conference on the city's digital technology projects, which was held in Hangzhou on Nov 13.
The promotional conference, sponsored by the Hangzhou government, was part of the 5th World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Convention, which opened on the same day.
More than 400 officials, trade delegates, entrepreneurs, researchers, and media representatives attended the event.
The aggregated volume of Hangzhou's digital economy has maintained double-digit growth for the past 20 quarters in a row, said Ke Jixin, vice-mayor of Hangzhou, at the conference.
Hangzhou's annual digital economy volume had maintained 19.1 percentage growth on average, contributing more than 50 percent to the city's total GDP growth, he added.
Ke noted that Hangzhou's primary digital businesses' revenue surpassed 1 trillion yuan ($142.72 billion) in 2018.
The promotional conference aimed to showcase Hangzhou's development in its digital industry, as well as promote its outstanding digital technology-related projects to seek cooperation opportunities.
Nine local companies presented their projects in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, information security, and financial technology.
From Nov 13 to 14, an exhibition showcasing Hangzhou's achievements in digital economy was hosted, involving 40 firms to demonstrate their top projects.
