Hangzhou district signs digital theme park deal at CIIE

The Xianghu resort area of Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou will receive China's first large-scale indoor digital technology theme park after a deal was signed between the resort area and Digital Domain, a company affiliated with Hong Kong Jinyihe Holdings Group Limited, during the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
The agreement was made at the 3rd China (Zhejiang)-Europe (Germany) Digital Economy and High-Tech Industry Matchmaking Conference, part of the CIIE.
The park will be themed around two keywords – "digital" and "oasis" – and its first phase of construction is expected to cover an area of 2 hectares. The project as a whole is expected to draw 200 million yuan ($28.63 million) in investment.
The theme park will incorporate elements of digital technology, entertainment, and culture in order to cater to young people, according to officials.
The China (Zhejiang)-Europe (Germany) Digital Economy and High-Tech Industry Matchmaking Conference was attended by 191 senior executives from 97 European companies and 457 managers from 336 Zhejiang companies.
The companies are involved primarily in artificial intelligence, intelligent healthcare, big data, industry, environmental preservation, finance, and more.
During the matchmaking conference, 33 project deals worth $5.7 billion were signed.
