Hangzhou-based Zhejiang Loong Air has signed an agreement to purchase three LEAP-1A engines from CFM, as well as a 12-year service agreement on the first day of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) being held in Shanghai, from Nov 5 to 10.

The deals are worth $477 million, representing Zhejiang province's first order at this year's CIIE.

The two companies also agreed to deepen their ties to promote the development of digital aviation.

More than 7,800 delegates from over 3,100 Hangzhou-based firms are participating in the event in search of fresh business opportunities.

The Hangzhou trade delegation plans to purchase commodities such as vacuum cups, as well as food, dairy, healthcare, and agricultural products from countries including New Zealand, Thailand, and the United States during the expo, according to officials.

The CIIE, initiated in 2018, is the world's first national import exhibition. This year's exhibition covers an area of around 30,000 square meters, with 64 countries from five continents and three international organizations represented, including China.

A total of 15 countries have been granted "guest of honor" status: Cambodia, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Peru, Russia, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Zambia.
