Hangzhou half-marathon attracts 8,000

More than 8,000 runners took part in the 2019 Hangzhou Xianghu International Half-Marathon, which kicked off at Xianghu resort area in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Oct 20.
Participants were offered two choices –– the half-marathon, representing a total run of 21.0975 kilometers, and the mini-marathon, involving a run of nearly 4.5 kilometers.
Nearly 5,000 participants signed up to complete the half-marathon and 3,000 contestants signed up for the mini race.
Prizes of up to 201,200 yuan ($28,436) was set aside for competitors, according to local officials.
Xianghu resort is known for its magnificent scenery and participants were able to enjoy views of lush trees and clear lakes as they made their way round the course.
