A 5G technology-powered medical operation conducted by Zhejiang Hospital in Hangzhou was broadcast live during the ongoing 6th World Internet Conference (WIC), which was held from Oct 18 to 22.

A panel led by Hong Chaoyang, dean of Zhejiang Hospital, demonstrated how 5G technology can revolutionize the medical industry. 

Empowered by 5G signals, WIC attendees watched how the operation was carried out with the guidance of medical experts. 

Yan Jing, Party secretary of Zhejiang Hospital, said that the hospital has been working to introduce advanced technologies to empower its medical treatment. 

All these advanced technologies have brought changes to services and treatment at the hospital and helped to improve the experience for patients, Yan added. 

A medical center for lung cancer diagnosis was also launched at the conference. The center, which adopts artificial intelligence technology to help screen patients for lung cancer, will greatly increase the accuracy of diagnoses and survival rates.
