The 2019 Tasty China, a gourmet gala following in the wake of the "Taste of Hangzhou" Asian Cuisine Festival opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Sept 21.

Focusing on make food better with digital economy, the three-day event features a series of forums, exhibitions and a chef show to present the unique charm and vitality of classic Hangzhou cuisines.

Xia Baolong, vice chairman and secretary-general of the13th CPPCC National Committee, said that Chinese food culture is profound and extensive and plays an important role in bridging cultural exchanges between the East and the West.

He hoped the expo would further advance the influence and development of Chinese food culture and promote international exchanges and cooperation.

During the expo, attendees also shared insights into catering related topics, including applications of digital technology in the catering industry.
