The 2019 Hangzhou Dream Town Half Marathon will open in Yuhang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Oct 20, according to organizers on Aug 23.
The race, held for the first time last year, was awarded the Bronze Label Road Race by the Chinese Athletics Association in 2018.
The marathon will include 10,000 runners and feature two races – a half (21 kilometers) marathon and a mini marathon (5 kilometers).
Instead of running along mountains and lakes, the routes will pass by top internet technology enterprises, major scientific and research platforms, and entrepreneurship and innovation bases.
A highlight of this year's event will be the use of a data command center to display event information to the public via intelligent screens.
The track will be covered by 5G network to improve the experience for runners and spectators.
Other high technologies including facial recognition and robot photography will also be applied.
Registration for the race is open from Aug 23 to Sept 20 on the official website.
