The 2019 Hangzhou International Fabric Fashion (Autumn) Exposition, an international home textile event, was inaugurated in Yuhang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Aug 24.

Running until Aug 26, the three-day event gathered more than 1,000 influential minds from textile industry associations, colleges and universities, and home textile companies to share ideas and explore the innovative development of the industry.

The latest eco-friendly home textile products are on display, such as natural-dyed yarns and fabric products made through the reused fabric waste.

"Fashion is becoming a trademark of Yuhang's home textile industry," said an official from the Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone, adding that the district is adopting new technologies, materials and designs to make home textile products more intelligent and fashionable.

An entrepreneurship and innovation competition and a white paper on the home textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta region were unveiled on the opening day of the exhibition.

Over the years, Yuhang has been working to rev up high-quality development of the home textile industry by integrating various innovative resources. At present, the district is home to 4,000 home textile enterprises, 35 of which have an output value exceeding 100 million yuan ($14 million). 

Yuhang is expected to cultivate a cluster of fashion industry chains worth 100 billion yuan by 2022.
