Hangzhou International School breaks ground on new campus

The new Hangzhou International School (HIS) campus broke ground in Binjiang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Aug 8, local media reported.
Located near White Horse Lake, the state-of-the-art construction covers more than 50,000 square meters and is expected to be completed by 2020.
The new campus will be equipped with better teaching facilities and an improved living environment, with two large restaurants, two indoor gyms, a 24-hour constant temperature swimming pool and two theaters.
Chinese elements will be introduced into the design of the new campus.
Established in 2002, HIS is the first of its kind in Hangzhou and it designed to serve foreign expatriate children from kindergarten through senior high school. Around 680 students from over 50 countries are attending HIS.
The school is expected to increase enrollment to between 1,000 and 1,500 after 2020.
