Hangzhou, the capital of East China's Zhejiang province, expects to see continued high-quality economic growth in the second half of this year, local media reported on Aug 2.
Hangzhou posted gross domestic product of 694.9 billion yuan ($100.97 billion) in the first six months, up 6.9 percent year-on-year.
The robust economic growth was boosted by the city's move to cut taxes and ease the administrative burden on enterprises.
A host of internationally influential activities and conferences -- including the 2019 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week and APEC China CEO Forum -- also accelerated the development of innovation in Hangzhou.
Hangzhou also opened its doors in the first half to the outside world and actively participated in the integration of Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.
Officials added that moving forwards, the city will increase its exchanges and cooperation with major cities in the delta region, while giving full play to its competitive strengths in tourism, the digital economy, the internet and in the financial sector -- so as to contribute to the integrated development of YRD region.
