A top delegation of government officials from Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, visited Shanghai on July 31 with the purposes to deepen friendly ties and promote the high-quality integration of Yangtze River Delta (YDR) region.
Led by Zhou Jiangyong, Party secretary of Hangzhou, the delegation visited Zhangjiang Science City and a specialized hub on artificial intelligence, as well as going to local communities to examine their refuse sorting techniques.
Impressed by Shanghai's advanced technologies in AI, the delegation noted that Hangzhou should learn from the city with the focus on the industrial internet and an intelligent system for urban management, while pushing ahead with the integration of new technologies in traditional industries and attracting more international companies and investment.
Zhou said Hangzhou would draw from Shanghai's successful experience in innovative development, reform and opening up and city management, so as to make a bigger contribution to the integration of the YRD region.
Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, expressed hopes that the two sides could better exchange experience and deepen cooperation in the areas of industrial development, scientific and technological innovation, urban governance and the environment.
Earlier this year, Hangzhou officials visited Shanghai and reached bilateral cooperation agreements in nine areas including industrial development, technological innovation, culture and tourism, financial services and educational exchanges.
