Main campus of Westlake University begins second phase of construction

Construction began on the second phase of the main Yungu campus of Westlake University in Hangzhou's Xihu district, Zhejiang province, local media reported on July 18.
The second phase covers an area of 83,333 square meters and has a total investment of 199 million yuan ($28.93 million). When completed, it will include a sports field, auxiliary facilities offices, a pump room and a sluice gate station.
The campus will be built by the same team that built Shanghai Disneyland and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
The first phase is currently under construction. It includes an administrative building, an academic exchange center, a student activity center, accommodations and a canteen.
Westlake University, founded last October, is China's first private university aimed at cultivating high-level talents in advanced technology and scientific research.
