Registration for the 2019 Hangzhou Women's International Marathon, which is slated to be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Oct 27, is now open to the public, organizers announced on July 18.
Organized by the Chinese Athletics Association and Qiantang New Area, the race is the first major marathon event in Qiantang New Area since it was established in April.
Dubbed "the most beautiful marathon of the year", the marathon's routes are carefully designed to allow runners to enjoy the beautiful views of the Qiantang River.
The race includes a half marathon and a mini marathon, with around 10,000 runners expected to participate this year.
The top eight runners will be awarded prizes ranging from 15,000 yuan ($2,181) to 500 yuan.
"We will do our best to provide quality services and create a sound environment in hopes that the event will become a high-quality trademark of Qiantang New Area," said a local official.
Successfully held for two years now, the Hangzhou Women's International Marathon has gained wide recognition for its friendly and helpful services. It was certified as a "Silver Medal Race" by the Chinese Athletic Association in 2018.
