A technological innovation base serving Zhejiang and Hong Kong enterprises was unveiled in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, according to a summit held on July 7.
The 2019 Hub Plus (Hangzhou) Summit, aiming to bring about talent exchanges between Zhejiang and Hong Kong in the realms of innovation and technology, attracted over 500 representatives from the both cities to shed light on intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and digital technology.
As the first of its kind in China, the center, located in Binjiang district, will provide support for technological and innovative enterprises in the two cities by introducing capital from Hong Kong and quality projects from Zhejiang to the world.
Over the years, economic and talent exchanges between Zhejiang and Hong Kong have become increasingly frequent.
In 2018, the total import and export volume of Zhejiang and Hong Kong was $4.18 billion. Sixty-four Zhejiang companies have listed in Hong Kong and more than 300 students from Hong Kong and Macao are studying in 31 Zhejiang universities, said vice president of Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Ltd.
Ye Chengkun, CEO of Homaer International, noted that 2019 is the year of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. The technology industries are undergoing drastic transformations with the development and commercialization of high-end technologies such as 5G and AI.
Hangzhou's technological innovation landscape creates infinite possibilities for the development of scientific and technological talents who will benefit from guided government policies, a stable economic environment, and sound entrepreneurial atmosphere, Ye added.
