Hangzhou to build Asian Games art research center

The Hangzhou Organizing Committee for the 2022 Asian Games signed an agreement with the China Academy of Art, or CAA, on July 14 to jointly build an art design research center for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Designed to improve the overall visual image of the Hangzhou Asian games, the center will provide consultations, set standards and control quality in visual designs, research as well as development of art products related to the Games.
CAA President Xu Jiang said he recognized the importance of the center in staging the Hangzhou Asian Games, adding that it shoulders a great responsibility in presenting the quality Chinese art designs with cultural connotations to the world.
Chen Weiqiang, vice mayor of Hangzhou, noted that the preparations of Hangzhou Asian Games required efforts from all walks of life and the CAA, situated in Hangzhou, would give full play to its advantageous resources.
The two sides also had in-depth discussion on the major graphic designs and colors of the venue and the mascot design for the Asian Games.
