The first resident show of Cirque du Soleil in China will be staged in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Aug 3, said a news conference on May 20.
Dubbed as "X the land of Fantasy", the 72-minute show will be presented in a state-of-the art theatre built by Hangzhou Xintiandi Group, a privately owned developer of tourism and cultural projects across China.
It will also be the Canadian entertainment company's only resident show in Asia.
"This is a show that must be seen twice in a lifetime," said Daniel Lamarre, president and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.

With 1,450 seats, the theater, located in a renovated factory on the outskirts of the city, has been designed specifically for the show.
By adopting state-of-art technology, the seating area is divided into two parts, both capable of revolving at 360 degrees, while artists perform between them. The theater will also feature a 200m-wide main stage and four acting areas.
The ticket price of the show ranges from 380 yuan ($55) to 1680 yuan, according to the official website.
"We hope to build Hangzhou Xintiandi into a city landmark featuring a combination of industry and life,” said Liu Wendong, chairman of Hangzhou Xintiandi Group, adding that the commercial premises are now home to many hi-tech companies and startups in Hangzhou, and the show is expected to be a driving force for the local tourism industry.
As a global leader in entertainment, the Canadian circus company is renowned for its animal-free and high-tech performances.
