A photo exhibition showcasing the transportation achievements Hangzhou has made since China's reform and opening up kicked off in the city on Oct 10.

The exhibition, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up, displays a raft of photos of the city's transport, regional transport and transport enterprises, highlighting the important events and the remarkable development of Hangzhou's road and water transportation over the past 40 years.

The exhibition is designed to inform the society of the important role of transportation, and at the same time, to accelerate the development of Hangzhou's transportation system, according to a local official.

The event lasts until Nov 5.

In 2018, the total investment in the city's transport infrastructure exceeded 52.1 billion yuan ($7.53 billion), a year-on-year increase of 41.96 percent.
